Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to remind all of you that there will be a memorial
service for
Paul Cohen this Saturday, September 29. Here is the schedule of events:

2 – 3:45: Three short talks, by Angus MacIntyre, Hugh Woodin and
Peter Sarnak,
about Paul’s mathematical work and legacy, and a short video of
Paul’s speech
at his 72nd Birthday Conference last year.

4 – 6: Music by the Harbour String Quartet and reminiscences by
Paul’s family, friends
and colleagues

6:00 reception/refreshments

7:00 screening of 45 minute video of Paul’s lecture at the Goedel
Conference
in Vienna last year.

All events will be in 370-370. More details on the department web
page.

I very much hope that you can join us in paying tribute to Paul Cohen.
